EXERCISE IN PREGNANCY

Do you want to:
  • Maintain your fitness during pregnancy?

  • Learn what exercises will be safe and effective at different stages?

  • Know how to strengthen your abdominal muscles correctly?

  • Learn how to reduce common pregnancy aches and pains through exercise?

  • Be given information on safe levels of cardiovascular and muscular strengthening work?

  • Physically prepare your body for labour?

  • Learn valuable relaxation techniques that can be used at the end of an exercise session and during labour?

  • Feel the psychological benefits of continuing to exercise during pregnancy?

    I offer a personalised service whereby I can teach you all of the above. This is usually done in one stand alone session lasting an hour and a half and is tailored to your specific needs.

    During a session there is the opportunity for you to ask questions and experiment with different exercises under 1-1 supervision so that your technique can be checked. I will then design an individualised programme for you to take away focussing on areas that you have particularly enjoyed or would like to work on. Follow up advice and discussion is freely available.



    EXERCISE FOR NEW MUMS

    I offer similar one off sessions to individuals. Clinical studies have shown that exercising postnatally can have huge psychological benefits in terms of helping to prevent postnatal depression.

    The postnatal sessions I run are tailored to your needs but tend to focus on the following:

  • Working to rebuild core strength and stability

  • Correct and effective abdominal work

  • Toning up and losing excess weight

  • Instruction and ideas on how to get fit through short exercise sessions that will fit into your new routine

    N.B. Mums should be 6 weeks postnatal or 10 weeks following a caesarean section. Suitable for all levels of fitness and babies are welcome!
